A woman is shocking internet users after issuing a warning to drivers about the importance of regularly tightening their car’s lug nuts.
In the video, she recounted an incident that happened five years ago. At the time, she was driving at 60 mph on a highway when a lug nut from the car in front of her came loose, shattered her windshield, and hit her square in the face.
Her 12-year-old son was in the passenger seat, and she recalls driving for about 30 more seconds after the impact. She was found on the side of the road, fearing she might die in front of her son.
“This lug nut went through my face five years ago,” the woman said while showing the finger-sized metal piece. She said she is now fully recovered, but it took three years and more than 30 surgeries to get to this point.
Further down the road, the driver’s wheel completely came off, hitting a couple on a motorcycle. She did not share details about their condition to protect privacy but described the situation as “very, very bad.”
By sharing her story, she hopes to raise awareness and prevent similar accidents from happening to others. So far, her video has received over 1 million views.
